Okay, So iI just bought a new Nvidia 6600 GT. I inserted it in my Dell Dimension 4600 and When I boot up... no display, the system boots up perfectly and you can even hear the windows startup sound. I do not get display of the BIOS or anything on bootup. This lead me to believe the card was faulty, However, it worked perfectly in an old ASUS motherboard of mine. It is powering up on my computer and the BIOS is disabling the integrated graphics so it is obviously detecting. However, no display on the monitor. I have also tried with different monitors but to no avail. I am just trying to work out why this card would not be working on this system. I have another old AGP card working on it but this new card won't work. Here are the computer Specs: Dell Dimension 4600 Intel Pentium 4 2.8Ghz 1GB RAM 1 SATA Hard Drive 1 X IDE Hard Drive 1 X Optical DVD/CD Burning Drive 1 X 31/4" Floppy Drive 500 Watt Power Supply 1 X Intel Ethernet Card 1 X Creative Sound Blaster Live! Dell E210882 Motherboard The system BIOS is the: Dell Dimension BIOS. Revision A12 The Card is a: Inno3D Nvidia 6600 GT 128MB DVI TV DDR3 - AGP Version Can anyone work out why I'm not getting output?
From what I can tell Yes. It automatically shuts off the integrated graphics (because there is no option to turn it off it just puts AGP ahead of integrated) but I have no display to see the BIOS anyway.
Yer I've already tried both of those. The card works perfectly on another Motherboard with the same PSU and I've blown a reblown the slot with a can of compressed air.
