    XP Built in CD Buring

Actually, it leaves it open. I did a bit of dinkin' around with the utility and ended up burning a number of files in various sessions to the same CD. After the first burn, however, you are never again prompted to open a folder to burn to again (that is, on a CD that has a session on it already...

    XP Built in CD Buring

Does this built in utility finalize the CD after it finishes burning it or leave it open for further burning?

    PERC 3 RAID controller

That link leads to the system itself, not the controller card. Sorry to point that out but it may very well be different RAM. However, any realiable high end RAID controller card that uses RAM in this fashion, i.e., the use of a replaceable memory module, uses ECC. Were talking about the...

    artifacts with 9800 pro

Odd colored dots/pixels such as you originally reported is usually the sign of bad RAM on the video card itself. I've never had it be anything other than that myself but I've spoken to a few people who have reported that some characterisitics within some BIOS's can cause this. PCI Concurrency...

How do i Speed up the boot proccess

A few things you could check are the startup menu and the services that are starting up with the system. Access the Control Panel and check the Services through the Computer Management Icon. You can manually start and stop services here. Also, check the Registry if your comfortable with it and...

Asking for a little input here

Absolutely. Actually, I plan on making this a document for everyone to use. I'm not going to copyright any of it. All that I will be asking from people is that if they modify the document then plese send me the modified document to keep the FAQ updated. Other than that, it's going to be...

Asking for a little input here

What I'm currently working on is a basic FAQ/HOW-TO on flashing the BIOS of the PC. As this FAQ develops, it may or may not cover other aspects of the BIOS, such as settings and configuring it in detail. For now, it will be just an FAQ for flashing. What I would like to know for others is what...

    Hard Drive Noise

Well, it really depends. The typical "grinding" noise it ok. In this I mean the noise a drive makes when it's seeking, reading or writing. The not good noise is the clanking a drive makes when it's head has to go back to chs 0. In doing this the drive is starting over since it's losing it place...

    More than 4 Devices?

Hmm. I tried this once in two different motherboards. The problem I encountered was the IRQ issue. The onboard IDE channels use 14 and 15. The card I tried to install, a HotPoint, wanted to use those IRQ's. It may have very well been the card I was using as it was hardwired for those IRQ's.

You may need to install the chipset drivers for that motherboard.
