Cheers, I may get a lump of wood (is MDF okay?) to bring the back up to the same height the front currently rests at. Probably a good idea as the other day (because I'm sorta looking up at the optical drive) I put a disc in on top of one that was already in and didn't realise till it sounded...

I have a small desk and as such my PC tower does not fit flat in the only space I can put it in. As it is it now rests upwards at a 25 degree angle (leaning back away from me). I haven't noticed any problems with either the optical drive or the HD but I thought I'd post this just in case I was...

Ah, an Amstrad CPC 464... I remember a friend having one. Didn't they have a weird setup whereby if you turned the monitor off it powered the system down? The disk drive version was the 664, I think.

What kind of chair do you sit on in front of your PC. If it's for a long time each day you're using it, it can be as worthwhile as a new Graphics Card!

I take it Crossfire is ATI's answer to Nvidia's SLI then? cheers for that, I think it's something that I'll shelve for now. I think I'll get this PC finished, then I'll start on a new one, rather than selling bits off. As it stands, P4 3.0, more memory and a GeForce 6600. I'm wary about...

My motherboard doesn't have them :crying: cheers willhub, that's made my decision for me. Sell mobo. Sell CPU. Go Athlon. Buy FX64 (or whatever is P4 3.0 equiv) and get nice mobo with crisp PCI Express slots... Damn this is gonna cost a lot.
