Why have you put the USB before the hard drive in the boot order? What is Snow Kitty? Do you have an integrated VGA socket that you can try? If not try reseating the ram and make sure the GPU is sitting firmly also.

What OS are you installing because if it's Win 7 then the drivers may already be included.

It's not about the motherboard but the fact that you are locked out of the machine because of an incorrectly entered bios password. Read that section again thoroughly.

There is nothing finer.

Have you not tried resetting the bios password as described in the pdf in Chapter 2 Remove Bios Password?

Well an idea of just what the rest of your system comprises would be nice. :)

Swapping out a GPU on laptops is not like doing so on a desktop Thomas as the graphics chip is integrated, in other words soldered to the motherboard. If you are going to get a machine then get one that has the ATI 6850 already in it.

You really need to ring the guy and find out what the bios password is mate, I mean surely you must have booted it up as soon as you got it yes?
