    Building a $1600 Rig for a friend

My brother plays FSX a lot online, and he had that exact joystick. After a few weeks he decided it was crap (I don't know why), and upgraded to the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro :)

    Time to move to 64bit?

It's probably my own fault the RAID isn't working... When I was messing around unplugging hard drives, one of the SATA cables got caught in the CPU fan. I started the PC without realising, and after wondering why all errors were flashing up in the BIOS, and why the BIOS settings had reset, I...

    Time to move to 64bit?

Thanks! I did the re-install yesterday, and XP refused to install, so I installed Vista 32bit. Used it for about 2 hours, got really annoyed with how slow it was, and had another go at re-installing XP. 4 hours later, I finally got it to work by disabling my RAID 1 array :(. Even when I loaded...

why the US auto maret drives me crazy

Per litre here, diesel is more expensive (about 99p per litre - which I make to be US$6.53 per gallon), but you fill up less because the MPG on a diesel car is typically higher than that from a petrol engine.

    Time to move to 64bit?

I'm doing a spring clean of my PC over the half term holidays. I'm currently backing everything upto DVD (just burning the 20th DVD now). I will be re-installing Windows after this, and I want to know whether you think I should go for XP 32bit Pro or XP 64bit Pro? I've resisted 64bit before...

    Opinion on pc

Yes I realise the price, what I meant is, I don't know if that's a good price in your currency. And I'm sorry I can't help you with the CPU, it was just a suggestion that maybe instead of spending so much on a graphics chip, the money could be used elsewhere.

    Opinion on pc

It's a good PC. I'm not sure about the price, because I don't know how much you would expect to pay in $'s. If you're not a gamer though, why bother with a gaming PC? The graphics card in that PC is way more than you need, and you could save some money and get a cheaper one, or get a faster...

How crazy has the weather been

Yeah the amount of snow we've had here is unusual... worst for 20 years apparently. This is the first time the college I go to has closed for snow in 17 years I'm told. This is from this morning - about a 5 minute walk from my house. More pics...

    Fast Food in the UK?

:( I've never tried one! Dinner as in the Yorkshire dinner or rest of the world dinner (I'm in Yorkshire, and I get funny looks when I say I'm having dinner at 12pm from non-Yorkshire-folk!)?
