    Please Help i need software

Yep not a problem, I've done it and attached it. The only thing to remember is that 10 = a, 11 = b, as usual, but 27 = space character. The computer recognises the space as a character, so it has to be included in the set of characters. Once again, don't hesitate to ask for any more changes...

    Please Help i need software

Ok I've re-written some of the code, and the numbers are now 3 digits long (to allow for more characters to be used), and are contained within a text file called numbers.txt. The text file must be in the same directory as the executable. Also, I've added something I created a while ago...

    Please Help i need software

It's easy to change, when I get back from work tonight I'll re-code a bit so it reads from a text file the numbers. Unless commas are used between each number, each number will have to be 2 digits. This is because it splits the code into 2 character sections, and converts them to numbers. I can...

    Please Help i need software

There thrown together something which might do the job. It only allows lowercase, and doesn't accept any formatting, but I can't be bothered to include them! Enjoy!

    Major Problem with PC

It could be that for some reason it is overheating when you try to do anything demanding. Try some software called SpeedFan to check the temperatures. I'm not sure if your PC would freeze, but it could be the power supply unit (PSU) which has broken, and when components demand more power, it...

    Memory problem

Are you sure that your motherboard supports 4gb of RAM? I can't imagine motherboard for a Sempron processor would have much use for 4gb of RAM, especially as 32bit Windows won't recognise all of it. I think the Sempron is 64bit, so there is a chance that it will support 4gb, but maybe only as...

Proof: A (windows) PC is not cheaper than a Mac

I think it's possible to try OS X on a normal PC. There's a project called OSX86 which makes it possible. There is a chip in Apple hardware which OS X looks for before it will run. Apart from that, the hardware is identical.

What to do with spare PC?

That would be: Folding@home - Main And I think there is a Hardware Forums team. You can also set a PS3 folding, which really helps as it uses 7 cores of it's processor (the 8th one is never used with anything, it is a backup incase one fails).

    E8400 hotter than 8800GT

You may already have tried, but I'd be tempted to remove the heatsink, clean off the thermal paste from both the CPU and heatsink, and start again by re-applying thermal paste and re-mounting the heatsink and fan. I found that when I first built my PC, the idle temp was 70, which was caused...

What to do with spare PC?

I have one in my loft which has been used as a webserver, a media server, a backup server and also a PC to do large downloads. Currently however, it is doing nothing! Webservers don't require much more than a Pentium III 500MHz I understand, so it couldn't be too hard to get it going...

    CPU upgrade

There doesn't look to be a great deal of demand: AMD Athlonâ„¢ XP 3200+, 2.2 GHz (AXDA3200DKV4E) OEM / ... on eBay, also AMD CPUs, CPUs, Desktop PC Components, Computing (end time 05-Jul-08 23:40:59 BST) If that processor sells for more than £25, I may consider selling the PC which I have in...

    CPU upgrade

An Athlon XP 3200+ is your best bet if your motherboard supports it. I'm not sure on the specs of the computer, but a RAM upgrade can make a big difference aswell.

    running vista

But what is your system? Unless it's exactly the same, or a lot better, you cannot know for certain. It could be when a more than a certain amount of power is demanded, the PSU just cuts out. I would suggest removing any unnecessary hardware from your dad's PC to test, such as sound cards...

Proof: A (windows) PC is not cheaper than a Mac

Yes I believe that ZoneAlarm is still free, although I find it to be as frustrating as Norton AntiVirus. ZoneAlarm slows down an Athlon X2 6400 by 40 seconds when booting up! Then it nags every 5 seconds about permissions for a program (a bit like Vista). I've given in with AntiVirus and...

Proof: A (windows) PC is not cheaper than a Mac

Just read your document, and it's very impressive! It's well written and thought out. Just a few points: 1. It seems to go into a different language for a bit towards the end? 2. You don't cite the sources of where you found the prices. It would have been nice to know where you found the...
