    Is this right?

I just built a new computer for a m8 and used a AMD Athlon 64 3000+ in it. In the bios it says the frequency is at 1838mzh. Now i know AMD chips run at lower clock speeds than intel chips and i know this chip isnt supposed to run at 3000mhz as this is an aid for comparison. I have an AMD...

How hot will this thing get?

Have been looking at the AMD Athlon 64 4000+ chips and im very tempted so im trying to get as much info on them. Does anyone know how hot these get on average and if so can anyone recommend a cooling method other than water cooling. Cheers.

Cool the processor Hal "I cant do that dave"

Fans are fine. No dust in the heatsink. Cables are very tidy and not in the way of airflow. No change has been made to the comp since before the problem came about. This is an odd one i agree. My hardware states that ive overclocked to the equivalent of a 3200. This was done a long time ago and...

Cpu is not over clocked and is only a year old. Performs perfect untill the temp rises.

Cool the processor Hal "I cant do that dave"

Its exactly a year since i built my current computer. The processor is a AMD Athlon XP 3000+ The stock heatsink is fixed to it using the thermal pad that came ready attached. Ive heard a lot about stock heatsinks often not really being up to the job but this one seemed to do great reaching 53...

Ive been creating a gaming clan site over the past few months and ive got to a tricky part. The site needs a forum. I know nothing about scripting (except what folder to upload them to) and use dreamweaver so my html knowledge is lacking. Anyone know of any sites that offer ready made forums...

    Thin is good???

I have had an idea about thermal interface material. I have found that a thin layer of thermal interface material (arctic silver, paste) is common advice among forums and manufacturers. Ive spent some time thinking about this and have come to the conclusion that it must be nonsense. Many of...

Its heat jim but not as we know it

Ive just replaced a shuttle xpc of mine that was stolen with all the same componants. As before i used arctic silver between the cpu (pentium 2.8ghz prescott) and the heatsink. My problem is that Ive noticed "motherboard monitor" is displaying a cpu temp on average 10c lower than is displayed...

Shouldn't Doom3 run faster than this?

512mb of ddr pc3200 ram cant quite run the game perfectly. Upgrade by another 512mb's and it should run amazingly. Most game stutters like this are caused by the system ram and not the graphics card. Doom 3 recommends 384mb's of ram for minimum requirements. The high detail setting needs...
