I can install Windows server 2019 or 2022 on some of my older motherboards, but my Asus Prime H610M-A D4 CSM is not compatible with Windows server 2019 or 2022. Can someone make a recommendation?

My computers don't have cases, so for the on/off switch I just use a regular front panel type switch and leave it hanging loose. Works fine, but I'd like to have switch that would mount directly on the mobo pins without having the loose wire. Anyone know of such a thing?

Called the mfg today and they said to try resetting the cmos, which I did, but no help. I also tried a new power on switch, but nothing. New mobo on the way, per the mfg recommendation.

I don't understand this statement. Are you saying that MS is more constrained in the ways in which they can change windows to prevent attacks? If that's true, why do I have to put up with all these friggin updates? Don't people just attack Windows because it's the establishment. tom

I presently do all the browser work I can on a Ubuntu machine. It is a roughly ten year old Dell notebook and it performs quite nicely running Chrome. But that's all I use it for. Thanks for the feedback. tom

This problem was resolved by booting from the Windows installation CD, selectiing repair and at the c prompt running the fix MBR utility. So the problem was evidently my master boot record was corrupted. No idea how, but I've order a new HDD.
