Lga 1700 Motherboard That Will Run Windows Server 2022

I can install Windows server 2019 or 2022 on some of my older motherboards, but my Asus Prime H610M-A D4 CSM is not compatible with Windows server 2019 or 2022. Can someone make a recommendation?

    SSD Erase in AHCI Mode

Thanks for responding. After some fumbling around I was able to get the job done using the Samsung Magician utility. It will help you make a bootable thumb drive from which you can do the actual erasure.

    SSD Erase in AHCI Mode

I am returning a Samsung 840 SSD to mfg because it consistently fails as a boot drive. However, when I hook it to another computer as a secondary drive, it's completely readable and I need to remove all my personal information. The drive worked fine for about 8 months as the boot drive, but now...

Momentary switch (on/off) mountable on mobo pins

My computers don't have cases, so for the on/off switch I just use a regular front panel type switch and leave it hanging loose. Works fine, but I'd like to have switch that would mount directly on the mobo pins without having the loose wire. Anyone know of such a thing?

    Replace Old TV

I have a TV in my office which is an old fashion CRT type. It gets it's signal indirectly from my satellite receiver through an RF modulator box. The sat receiver primarily serves a HD TV in another room about 50 feet away. I would like to replace the TV in my office with a pci tuner card...

    PC Power Consumption by meterbp

I have a number of homemade computers which are fairly low end machines. I wondered about how much power they actually consume, so I recently purchased a meter which I can hook them up to. One of them is an Intel E5200 with 2 Gb of ram and 2 hard drives, and no video card. It's power consumption...

First No Kbyd; Then Will Not Power On

Received and installed new mobo yesterday. It was NOT the mobo. I then replaced the power supply which I happened to have because I bought it for another computer I was getting ready to put together. It started right up. Losing the keyboard really threw me off. I just couldn't relate that to a...

First No Kbyd; Then Will Not Power On

I'm pretty sure that's not my problem, but when I find out, I'll let you know.

First No Kbyd; Then Will Not Power On

I considered this momentarily when the problem begin, but once the powering up problem began I forgot about it. Is there any way for a virus to cause a computer to not even power on?

First No Kbyd; Then Will Not Power On

Called the mfg today and they said to try resetting the cmos, which I did, but no help. I also tried a new power on switch, but nothing. New mobo on the way, per the mfg recommendation.

First No Kbyd; Then Will Not Power On

The first thing I did was try different keyboards. When that didn't work, I switched the keyboard input from ps2 to usb. That seemed to work, but then the same problem came back. The power supply would not turn on, but when it did, I could not get past the bios access and even when there, since...

First No Kbyd; Then Will Not Power On

I have a 3+ year old computer; Intel E6700/winXP. Yesterday it began to act strange in that it stopped recognizing keystrokes. I determined that it was not the keyboard. I restarted it with some difficulty because momentarily, it would not power on. I finally got it started and they keyboard...

Convert Dell Precision 220 Case to ATX

Thanks for check'in in, but my Dell case has already gone to the dumpster. I've pretty much decided that the next computer I build will not have a case at so I'll never to worry about that problem any more. tom

    Making a home network secure

I don't understand this statement. Are you saying that MS is more constrained in the ways in which they can change windows to prevent attacks? If that's true, why do I have to put up with all these friggin updates? Don't people just attack Windows because it's the establishment. tom

    Making a home network secure

I presently do all the browser work I can on a Ubuntu machine. It is a roughly ten year old Dell notebook and it performs quite nicely running Chrome. But that's all I use it for. Thanks for the feedback. tom

    Internal vs external graphics

Thanks for the recommendations. Since I made the posts I've had a change to look more closely at the differences between my old montors with the DVI input from a graphics card and the new monitor running analog from the mobo onboard video, and for almost everything I've looked, at I can barely...

    Internal vs external graphics

I have a computer with on board graphics which has been connected to a 17" CRT. I want to move it to another desk where I have other monitors so in order to save space and weight I bought a HANNS-G 20" LCD. It's a wide screen with max res of 1600x900 which is where I'm running it. It's not...

    No Boot w/o floppy

This problem was resolved by booting from the Windows installation CD, selectiing repair and at the c prompt running the fix MBR utility. So the problem was evidently my master boot record was corrupted. No idea how, but I've order a new HDD.

    No Boot w/o floppy

My computer suddenly decided it would no longer boot. At first I was getting the "windows had a problem" with options for safe, etc. and it would allow me to enter the BIOS, but now it just halts part way through startup unless I put a floppy in the A drive. I no longer see the enter BIOS...

    CPU Cooler Installation

I have just installed the CPU and cooler on a new motherboard. It's an Intel E5200 with stock cooler. I have done this several times before, and it never seems to go according to the book. I've also watched internet videos and read all directions over and over and I still cannot seem to do it...
