    Vista problems...

thanks a lot! yeah believe me, if I didn't have to, I wouldn't even use windows... I got Vista because I thought it's stupid to get XP when a newer OS is there... Tell me another thing please: Will there be any problem with installing XP PRO SP2 on 2 machines?

    Vista problems...

All I'm asking for is a maintenance program like TuneUp utilities 2006 for Windows Vista, cause it's getting pretty buggish at the moment...

    Vista problems...

First of all, the HDD is working all the time and slowing the system down... then I get the blue screen of death (no idea why), and the firewall is off and I can't get it on and to make matters worse, there are all the time error messages saying failed this, broken that etc... Believe me since...

    thermal grease

yeah I think I put very little... the annoying thing is that the manual doesn't say what amount or anything, so I couldn't tell whether it's too much or not... anyway the pc has been running for quite a while now. Can't install asus probe in Vista to find out the temps using windows...

    thermal grease

so if my CPU temps are high I shouldn't consider the thermal grease as a cause right? BTW I've been running it for quite a while...

    thermal grease

Hi, Just out of curiosity, what would be the signs of not having put enough thermal paste on the CPU? Would excessive heat be one of those?

    Core 2 Extreme (Quad) Temperatures...

Oh come on... just anyone, give me the BEST, most efficient air cooler for socket 775. Thank you. (possibly a silent one...)

    Front panel Audio connector

nah, it's impossible to explain, I'll try again: my internal audio connection has the same amount of pins as the front panel audio connector but as we all know there's always one hole that's filled in so we don't make a mistake connecting them, now the problem is the filled hole that's not at...

    Core 2 Extreme (Quad) Temperatures...

I've installed my new Core 2 Quad QX6700 processor, and by looking at the temperatures in the BIOS, the CPU temp is 46.5°C    with the default fan!!! I was wondering whether it's normal, can anyone tell me or give a link explaining why QX6700 temps are so high? Thanks in advance!;)

    Re: Best CPU Cooler

Best CPU Cooler Yeah, you're right, I'll check the Quad's stock cooler then see... I'm looking for the most efficient air cooling in case the stock cooler isn't enough or is too noisy. Price isn't a problem at this stage. Just 2 things: 1. silence, 2. Efficiency.

    Front panel Audio connector

Hi, My P5W-DH Deluxe has a different front audio place from my connector... the filled in place on the connector isn't the same as on the mobo, if you see what I mean... So my question is: is there an adaptation cable or something to slove that problem? Thanks in advance!

    Best Processor for Gaming?

P4s are definitely not the best, old technology. Intel Core 2s are the best processors at the moment. Possibly the E6400 or E6600 for you...

In need of a quiet fan

One question: are you really a girl? ;) As for the fan, Arctic cooling seem to be quite efficient and quiet... asus isn't bad either.

    Nasty cooler noise

just like my old P4, 2.8 GHz HT... just pull out the leg from the lower part of it... it sounds a bit hard, but you just have to release one side then the other. Do not pull it diagonally.

    Corsair ram question...

yeah it is certified safe... But I think I'll keep the default 1142Mhz freq as I don't want to void the warranty, I'll do it when the warranty is finished. Same goes for the CPU, unless they can't find out whether I've overclocked or not...

    Thermal grease

Ok, then I should be sure that the one I'm getting has the pad already, right? BTW I won't overclock as the warranty will be void... It was of course in my plans but voila...
