Your calculation's correct. The HD companies don't go by that calculation which is what the OS detects. The companies round 1024 to 1000. but still call 1000 a GB. So, if HD companies went by your and the OS's calculation they'd either have to supply more gigs to say its an 80 gig drive, OR say...

sounds like a lens cleaning problem to me. you have one of two choices, purchase a lens cleaning disc (the one with the lil brush) but that didn't work for me, or do the Q-tip option, which did work for me and many others.

what type of game are you trying to boot? PS2? or PS1?

Are you trying to play a ps1 or ps2 game. Texture Mapping and Disc speed are all for ps1 games, they shouldn't affect ps2 games at all. Anyway, when you're at the config screen press triangle to set the settings back to default if thats what you think it is.(you'll need to press triangle again...
