    PC Suddenly powers off

oh hell, I had this problem a while ago, I ended up buying a new overpowerful power supply, and then realized it was my motherboard that was wrong, this took me 3 months to figure out, I hope this is not the same problem as mine was. I have basically same setup as you from what you have told so...

    First attempt at Oc'ng

for now, its probably not worth going any further, not at least until you have more of a graphic card (or add another for SLi) in gaming purposes. Its a good card, aggreeably, and I am getting one myself for my birthday in november, but for such a high spec system, your cpu is more than fast...

    Building your own gaming machine?

ooof yea definitely, if you want to build a GAMING PC, build it yourself, I agree with the above, however, if you were wanting a basic PC, it can sometimes be cheaper to buy pre-built, with XPS dell's and alienware, you are paying for the name, not the quality of the goods (despite them being...

    Serious, frustrating problem

radeon 9200s are ooooold school, you want something more along the lines of a geforce 6 series or decent ATi X range, if you are on a budget. Specs of PC? power supply? etc. are you overclocking anything?

    Geforce 8800 superclocked...freezing

I would recommend a "DECENT" 450Watt Power supply or more for a typical machine setup - couple of hard drives, CD/DVD drives, Athlon X2/core 2 Duo CPu etc.

new 8800 GTS OC not performing?!?!?!

hmmm I am wanting to get a BFG O/C 2 640MB 8800GTS soon, but off-hand I am guessing it may be an nVIDIA Driver bug, which needs fixing,

    Not Enough Juice

I give up, 95% of what I wanted recovering was on the correct partition anyway. One thing though, does anybody think it MUST have been down to the power supply that caused this failure? Because my dad is paying out £40 for this new, corsair 450W power supply, and wants this kind of thing not to...

    overclock a amd 3400 - Newcastle - help plz.

no probs ;) basically, if you increase one thing e.g. your FSB I think it is, if the board has not got this "lock" option, (or whether it does it automatically) then you can end up overclocking your AGP bus, which by default is 66/67MHz and could end up at over 70 or 80, which then damages your...

    Not Enough Juice

yea true, I think I`ll do that, by the way, I put their main hard drive in my pc, which was partitioned, saved the majority of files on the other part, but the windows partition, says its RAW and needs formatting. Is there any way of recovering the few files on that partition?

    Not Enough Juice

yea, so you would recommend corsair's VX 450 model? the better HX high end models got brilliant results, as did this one, but is designed for a PC such as this one in mind, and, for my mum who is wanting to "go green" with efficiency, it is 85% efficient, or 80% at full load superb. And yea, my...

    overclock a amd 3400 - Newcastle - help plz.

ah, I see you are on socket 754. Before you overclock anything, make sure your motherboard supports BUS locking, otherwise as well as overclocking your CPu, you end up oveerclocking other things and causing un-intentional damage.

    Not Enough Juice

Hi, I am here because I think my mum and dad's PCs power supply is not enough to power their PC. And suggestions for a new one. For starters, we got their PC from tiny 3 and a half years ago. It had 1 hard drive, DVD writer and onboard graphics. I have been upgrading it since. e.g. I added a...

hmmm, i heard not to settle for less than 512mb of video memory, i intend to run games at 1280x1024 and maybe some AA and AF and i hope to run many games on highest settings. Are you sure I should go for a faster card with less vid mem?

Major Upgrade, advice required please :D

Hello again, fellow hardware-forums-ers. I am upgrading my PC very soon, and no I do not want to buy a new system for anybody who thinks I should - I need this to last me until 2009/2010, then I will build a whole new one alltogether. Anyway, my current PC specification is in my sig below...
