    FX60 vs. X2 4800+

You don't people listen, everything but the clock speed is the same. At least as much as is published on Newegg.

    FX60 vs. X2 4800+

Well, it sisn't really answer my question. Both processors have Toledo cores and the exact same amount of cache. Furthermore, the FX-60 is only 200 MHz faster than the 4800+. So, if I were to overclock a 4800+ to 2.6 GHz would I have an FX-60?

    FX60 vs. X2 4800+

Okay, I was Newegg looking at processors and came accross someting I find interesting. The FX60 costs $811 while the 4800+ costs only $369. I compared them and it turns out everything, cache and core, is the same except for the clock speed. And even that is only 200 MHz. Does this mean that the...

    X1900 XTX power supply question

Yea, an overloaded cheap PSU won't last very long and, unfortunately, when they go they go postal. There are horror stories of PSUs burning out and taking motherboards, processors, and video cards with them. This image was posted by AT to show why you shouldn't get a cheapo. ImageShack -...

    Strange Problem

First of all, this should be in the video card forum. But anyways, it isn't actually at zero, the software is just having issues detecting the speed. Think about it, if the clocks were at zero then the computer would have no video. I would recommend that you make sure the OC utilities are up to...

    My Overclock

Ok, my computer is currently running at 2.8 GHz. I am running Prime 95 right now to see if it is stable. The Vcore is at 1.475. My question is how high is too high. I think I will cut off the voltage at 1.5. Any other thoughts about this?

    My Overclock

I think most of my problem is my motherboard. I got errors at 2.55 GHz. I can raise my latendies but as I stated memory timings shouldn't be a huge issue. 2.7, however, would be mighty nice. 500 MHz OC. Thats like... 23%. Niiiice. EDIT: It was apparently it was all in the HT speed. I didn't...

    Increasing memory bandwidth efficiency

Well but it is high quality Corsair RAM. And, as I said, I wasn't sure whether or not the speed was more important than the latency.

    My Overclock

Today I decided to overclock my computer and this is what I have at the end of the day. CPU: AMD 64 3500+ -Native clock: 2.2 GHz -Over clock: 2.5 GHz GPU: ATI X800 Pro -Core/Memory native clock: 470/450 MHz -Core/Memory over clock: 520/500 MHz The CPU OC is mediocre but I like the...

    64 Bit supported?

Many people won't necessarily switch for real functionality but because they want the newest OS. I know I will get it simply because I want it.

I don't really like the over the top design but that is all personal preference. I have an MGE Viper but now I hate it. I want an Antec p180 so bad.

    How to overclock a P4 3.0 GHZ

Yes, 233 MHz FSB will give you nearly 3.5 GHz (3495 MHz). That is a bit high for a 3 GHz P4, however. I think you would hit some fairly severe temperature problems at that speed. I would recommend sometihng around 3.2-3.3 Ghz. Even that may be too high.

    How to overclock a P4 3.0 GHZ

Indeed it is. Find the multipler value too. You found the FSP (Front Side Bus). Multply the FSB by the multiplier and you should get your frequency. For example my FSB is 200 with a multipler of 11. That gives me 2.2 GHz. If I want 2.5 GHz then I make the FSB 227 MHz. 227*11=2497 MHz or...

Looks like I've underestimated my 3000+...

Yea, fortunately, permanent damage form an OC is rare. The computer usually either starts or it doesn't. Then you just go back into the BIOS and put it back/lower it.
