I would Still go with Windows 7 and NOT Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7 will be Around a LONG Time.... Just Like XP... Everyone has there OWN opinion...

Pull the bios battery out for 10 minutes, then replace it...sounds like you installed the wrong drivers for keyboard and mouse...

Well with all those in yellow is not a good sign, I would try to reinstall your sound drivers..

This can be a number of things, Hard drive going bad to video card going out...Check all your plugins.. Are there any errors?

What happens if you choose Never under turn Monitor off ? I NEVER use a screen saver or hibernate , It always causes problems.. Try turning Everything to Never.. Disable Screen saver and Power down ..
