Sounds like There is No driver for what you are trying to hook up ...Does the modem Or DVD work if you use a rear USB plugin ?

This can be a Number of things, From Power supply to Led screen to hard drive..Motherboard could of went out.. Has this laptop ever been dropped ?

Have you tried removing the bio's battery for 10 minutes then replace.

Try pulling out the Bio's battery for 10 minutes to reset the bio's...Does the new power supply work in your friends computer?

Komputerbay , is not good Memory for PC, but mostly for Mac/Apple... You need to get some Memory like Kingston/Edge/G.SKIL/Buffalo and there many others.... just stay away from Komputerbay.. Just my opinion..

Check the Hard drive for Errors..Sounds like a Bad hard drive.. Run scan disk, Or hard drive re generator..

What is the make and model of the laptop.. Once you drop a laptop, they are pretty much toast after that...Better off just replacing it..

How old is this Printer ? It sounds like it needs to be Realigned...

If it has been dropped that many time, then the motherboard probably has a problem..
