LOL. I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. If I didn't know that then I'd be doing something wrong don't you think? :)

    google chrome

I've not even tried Chrome because Mozilla Firefox already does what I want in a browser. And I use too many extensions in Firefox that I can't live without. And besides, Mozilla Firefox has reached a stage of acceptance where it is almost guaranteed to work with all websites now. I'd bet...

Why I'm tempted to try a Mac

Yeah I don't get the premium price tag. If you want the power of UNIX then you'd use Linux right? MACs are just fashion items in my opinion. And You're right Zues, what can a MAC do that Windows and Linux cannot? Not much in my opinion.

    OMG! I've ditched Linux!

Nope! Its for real. Ubuntu got wiped and Windows took over my hard drive yesterday ;-) Maybe its because I am a professional Windows administrator or I just use common sense but I have never had a virus on one of my Windows PCs. Sure I have to clean viruses from other user's PCs almost every...

    OMG! I've ditched Linux!

I've moved back to the darkside. I am back in the Windows terrain and strangely its not such a bad place after all. I've got a polished Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 installation with Windows Media Center working wonders with my Hauppauge TV card, heck the remote control worked without any...

    fix this prob guys

What was the problem then? I've had Ubuntu lock up on me before. It used to lock up randomly and I had to turn off at the power button. The problem turned out to be a compatibility problem between the Geforce 7200 GS I was using, the nVidia driver that came with Gutsy at the time, and...

Best Sound Card for ~$100 these days?

You did not specify whether you are looking for a stereo or surround sound capable sound card. If the former is the case, I'd recommend you shoot for an M-Audio Audiophile 2490 (assuming its got x64 compatible drivers). Its probably one of the best sound cards you can get for around £50. It does...

    kde 4.1

The switch from KDE to GNOME can be painful at first, but not as painful as the initial switch from Windows to Linux. Its just a case of getting accustomed to the various GTK apps and the GNOME way of doing things. Besides, these days most of the good stuff is happening in GNOME: Network...

    kde 4.1

KDE 3 won't be around for ever. Soon you'll have to decide whether to jump to KDE 4 or go all GNOMEY (the latter option was my choice and I haven't looked back).
