If this Problem does the same on another hard drive, then sounds like you have a Hardware Problem some where else... You will have to narrow it...
I would try another hard drive, But Not a Seagate... Try a Western Digital... Or Maxtor..
How old is this computer ? Again ! have run scandisk ? It sounds like your hard drive is going OUT...
What does it do if you pull the battery OUT and just run on AC power ?

Your Problem is the Mac boot manager,,, you will need to remove it some how.. you might be able to remove with partition magic without messing up...

Yea ! this could be a number of things, I don't believe it is the Motherboard... I would remove the OS X hard drive, and then fix your boot...

Is this card USED ??? Never buy computer parts off ebay.... I would test this card in a different computer to see if it is good..

Everything looks OK, Where are you getting your parts from ? I like the i5 cpu, but would go with a Gigabyte Motherboard and would get a top mount...
