KVM won't install with KVM capable CPU

If I reboot to a normal kernel I'm able to install kvm no problem. But once I boot back to the normal kernel, the module doesn't load and I can't reinstall it as it fails with the same error.

KVM won't install with KVM capable CPU

slinky:/home/user# ls /dev/kvm ls: cannot access /dev/kvm: No such file or directory Nope. *EDIT* According to this site, "You'll never see (vmx|svm) in /proc/cpuinfo if you're currently running in in a dom0 or domU. The Xen hypervisor suppresses these flags in order to prevent hijacking...

Virus Aftermath.. please please help me

I don't think the name is actually "Internet Security 2010". Are you able to give me the name of the "application" that pops up on your screen when you boot to normal mode (ex. Antivirus 2010)? I'm not able to find that name online so it's hard to help you based on the info given so far. If...

    Software list

Does anyone know of a command in Red Hat based Linux distros that lists software with a version number in a user friendly format? I am aware that I can use rpm -qa But the output is like bind-libs-9.3.6-4.P1.el5_4.2 And I would like it to output more like Debian's method of: dpkg -l...

Am I the only one who thinks Dream Theater sucks?

Eh, never really cared for them much. Can't say I've listened to enough of their music to make an elaborate post. Kinda like I'll hear 30 seconds of a song and just switch stations/songs.

DVI to HDMI adapter - sound problems

Thanks for the response! The TV that the computer is being hooked up to has audio jacks (red, white) beside the first HDMI port, which we have tried using to get sound but to no avail. Hmm.. must be a nvidia thing about DVI to HDMI not supporting sound or something. The DVI to HDMI...

    Reset computer!

No problem! Ok, so in order to get a fresh install of your operating system on that computer, you're going to have to put that XP Pro disc in the cdrom drive and boot from it. If the computer is not set by default to boot from the drive, you can change this in the BIOS (usually under "Boot...

    computer running slow

As Ghostman1 said, 256 is quite low for XP, even with a bare operating system on it. Once you start adding applications such as anti-malware products and instant messengers, it will slow down. You're going to want to upgrade to 512MB - 1GB. Furthermore, as Ghostman said, Norton is a heavy and...
