Pretty much that, I haven’t selected an OS yet not sure if vista or XP.
Am I missing anything would this be a good build, etc?
I am a heavy multitasker btw.
Feel free to modify and suggegst ANYTHING, please put an explanation of why ofcourse, thanks!
link works for me…im no pc expert but it looks as tho you have a pci lan card on there for $45 that you dont even need…your mobo selection already has dual lan built in of the same speed specs so i would ommit that part of it to save the $45 towards your OS. just my 2 cents tho. also i see no ram memory on there…im assuming you dont have that so make sure to add it so you can get everything at once. try these
as ive heard good things about ocz memory…or you could go patriot they are great as well, i have a few friends that swear by that brand. other then that it looks like a nice build, good luck with it.
i just skimmed through an article comparing ddr2 and ddr3…basically it said that ddr3 offers faster speeds at lower voltage and thus consuming less power…im no expert tho maybe someone else knows more then i have just found. link to article page 1 i am of the opinion that anytime you can uprade/ be prepared for the future you should go ahead and do it, it isnt as tho it will be a really long time before ddr3 becomes the standard for memory, then you would have to buy memory/board over again then so if i was building that i would go ahead and get the ddr3
DDR 3 is better but only at high speeds like 1800MHz or 2000MHz any lower and it won’t make a huge difference to DDR2 due to the fact that you can now get 1066MHz+ max i think is 1200MHZ DDR2. DDR3 at the moment is really not worth getting because it’s way too expensive, when prices come down then people should switch to DDR3 but for now i say stick with DDR2 and get high speed one 1066MHz+
wohoo the link that you provided now works for me, very strange before it didn’t o well
Just taken a look at what you planing on getting and here are a few pointers you can think about:
Case: Very good choice
Mobo: I wouldn’t go for a 790i mobo atm because DDR3 is not really worth it. (i explained about DDR3 in previous post)
I would go for a 780i mobo like this one: EVGA 132-CK-NF78-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI
GPU: Personally i wouldn’t go for a 9800GX2 it’s too dam expensive, why not go for a 9800GTX then in future go SLi???
I don’t know what OS your going to get and whether it’s going to be 32bit or 64bit, I would say you should go for windows vista home premium 64bit and get 6GB/8GB memory
I have decided to invenst right now on DDR3 and get only 2gb of memory at 1800 and later buy another 2gb that way I dont have to change the mobo and memory just get more memory.
Now, which one would be the best choice, I see the only one reviewed are the expensive 1800’s with great reviews all of them. Could someone point me to the best value in the 1800?
