I just found my dream video card. Here it is. Imagine that, in SLi. You would need a kick*** processor to even try to keep up with that thing. It has 640 MB or RAM, 512 of it GDDR3. I can’t yet find the specific clock speeds on the DUAL GPU’s but my money says they’re up there. Too bad the cost nearly $2000. So much for that.
good for CAD, good for Maya, good for Rhinocerous…NOTHING ELSE. 6800’s beat it.
So, its cool though. Even if it is a graphics design card. Graphics design cards don’t get enough credit.
They’re designed for different uses than games graphics. they’re more of Maya and 3dsmax like nf said. Its like saying the Itanium beats the A64 FX-57. Different market.
boy they sure do haul ass with maya though.
It it me or does it say that it has 256 GB of memory? Second subpoint of the first Bulleted point it says “innovative 256 GB virtual memory support shatters the limits of onboard memory by automatically handling huge datasets while caching essential data for fastest access”
Thats insane! lol please verify cuz thats almost unreal.

ole and amen :good:
No that is a misprint. It has 128 MB of Burst Memory and 512 MB of GDDR3.
ahh burst memory, haven’t heard about that in a long time
that thing is HUGE, it takes up like 3 expansion slots of space, good if your into modelling CAD, MAYA (i got to use that on my week long university course the other day…YAAAAAAY) or stuff like that, wouldnt think it would be good for games and its just not worth the money if your playing games, whereas modelling / animation has a serious use and there’s money to be made
3840 x 2400
whew thats a big resolution, and I feel special with my LCD 1280x1024
yeah 3 PCI slots? wow
YOU USED THAT BEHEMOTH!? awesome man, how does it feel to use the worlds most big a*s graphics card?

I think it uses something like TurboCache like the nvidia 6200 series. It is able to allocate the RAM of the motheboard to use as VRAM.
yeah but still (stares in amazement) the most GPUs for games have gotten to was 1 gig, 2x512mb on sli

I wouldn’t doubt a 6600GT owning the 3dlabs card though ![]()
As Ninja said, it’s not a gaming card, but it sure as **** would kick the *** of any other card in modeling.
why can’t they turbocache cards like the 7800GTX?
Pretty sweet card, yeah that and dual core GPU’s would be nice.
its funny to know that today’s best GPUs are more advanced than todays best processors
That should make longhorns sucessor into an actual game then, screw the cpu, just use a video card for everything, the game will be a cooler OS, you have to shoot-dodge your way to the control panel, collect the green key to open up the administrative features, and work through a jumping puzzle to get to the recycle bin.
Hahaha, that would be awesome, and it would beat the **** out of Solitare, Spider Solitare, and Aquarium/White Tailed Deer Solitare.
