I’m upgrading my computer. I’m replacing the CPU, the mobo, and the RAM. The website I’m buying from lists the following for an option:
512M DDR-PC2700: 333mhz (OEM)
I know what everything but the OEM part means. Is it a company? Or are there compatability issues attached to it?
Oh, yeah, this is my first post, so if there are any “newbie rituals” to be performed, end it quick.
OEM=Original Equipment Manufacturer. Basically, this means it’s gonna be the hardware, and maybe a driver disk (if necessary). No cables, extra software, etc as applies to the retail version. In short, it’s the product and nothing else. It should be packaged in an antistatic bag if nothing else. They should ship it in a box with good padding.
