I have my network set up and sharing files work fine, but when i click on printer i get accees denied
one pc is on vista,the printer is installed on the other pc which is on xp,i understand there may be a conflict, but have had it working so know it can.
can anyone advise me how to get over this access denied to shared printer on vista please
Try the following:
Go to Start > Network > Network and Sharing Center.
At Sharing and Discovery, make sure that Printer Sharing is turned on. If that doesn’t solve it, then turn Password Protected Sharing off.
thanks for advise but this is how its set up already,so still have the problem.

Do you have a personal firewall running?
Thanks its now sorted, i had to go to printers/properties/add local port etc
