Hi all
Hope I find the community well and fighting fit…
It seems likely that I will be going for a new system before the end of our lord’s year of 2008. Now, the way I am going is not going to be very popular with this forum but to be frank, I cannot be bothered for a new build and my customer wants a brand with some support behind it… so I narrowed the options to two:
Dell - XPS630 (including a 20" screen and three year on site cover) at £1258 direct from Dell.
HP - Pavilion Elite M9361 - base unit only with three year cover at £1059 from the distinguished John Lewis
Why these two?
Dell - My first PC was a Dell and it never ever had any problems. Nada, ziltch, klum! I expanded it, upgraded it and always started. Granted, it was somewhat noisy but nothing terrible. I work with dell laptops and desktops at work and I have to say that on the whole, they seem really reliable. To me they look like good value for money…
HP - I know nothing about HP. I never used one. Their laptops stink but desktops? Never had the pleasure. On the other hand, John Lewis are a credible shop and so far I have always found them to sell quality products. I would imagine that they would not back-up a manufacturer, if it was tosh…
I provided the links so you can have a look at the specs…
Thanks for looking and for your comments… have a good weekend!
