i think this error is related to your sound card (or onboard sound) download new drivers, uninstall old sound drivers, then install the new drivers, and all should be ok
why i think this: cmicfg.cpl C-Media Incorparated, cfg = confiuration, .cpl = control panel extention

aahhhhhhhhhhhhhh dont you just hate it when the manufactures cd that i got with the motherboard is crap and is missing that file 
so do you know where i can download it plz :S

It depends on the make of your onboard sound. When you find out what they are, go to the manufacturers website and look under support or drivers (or something similar).
i dont even know but all i know is that i reinstalled the drivers of the cd :s and it couldnt find 2 diifernt ones but i restarted and its fine so far so if i have any more problems ill give you lot a tinka (lol) thx for all the help pinkpig
