Firewall can minimize damage caused by spyware by blocking unauthorized access while, Antivirus is a software application used for the prevention, detection, and removal of malicious software, including Computer viruses, Trojan horses, spyware, and adware.
It’s hard to say what will work best for Windows 10, with the beta the only thing available right now. However, if an AV has been doing well over the past few versions of Windows, it’s a reasonable assumption you can expect the same with Windows 10.
I’d like to add something about firewalls. From what I’ve seen, anti-virus is typically software. It’s not to say there aren’t hardware AV’s somewhere, but I haven’t heard of any. Firewalls can be found either as hardware or software, and sometimes you can get an OS to install on your own home-built router/firewall (monowall). Hardware firewalls are typically part of a router, but it’s always good to check when buying a new one.
Both Firewall and Antivirus software’s are security applications. Firewall decide which out of a network or computer and which is allow it to pass and on the other hands Antivirus detects that which kinds of harmful programs that are already installed on your computer or about to be installed.
