Fairfield man arrested after Stamford Apple store worker allegedly finds child porn on computer
Apparently this dude had some issues with his computer, and after a technician of the Apple Store took a look at it, he found a wide range of pictures that contained child pornography. Therefore he informed the police, and the dude got arrested.

Now seriously, child pornography is a very terrible thing to do. But wasn’t the technician violating his privacy by not asking for permission first, before calling the police?

In the US, if you encounter child porn or child abuse you are legally obligated to report it to the police.

That’s indeed a good thing. I always thought that the US was a bit laid back with laws.
