GHZ don’t matter much at all. MHZ are cycles a CPU does, how much work the CPU does per cycle differs from core to core. The AMD cores do more work per cycle then the P4’s so they can run at lower GHZ while still beating them. That’s why they can be 2.0ghz and be rated at a 3200+. Because the 3200+ would be comparable to the p4 3.2
FX-58 at 2.9GHz, where did you get that number? And a P4 4GHz…um, you doing ok Waffle? Wanna share the link with the rest of us that you got this info from.
IMO, Athlon64s are the best gaming CPUs at this point. Try and get a CPU with 1MB L2 cache and overclock it the couple extra hundred MHz and youre set.
thx a lot for the info guys, WOW!! is A64 that great? over-run a p4 3ghz. if i do get da A64 3200+ and gonna overclock it, which fan do u guys suggest for it and how long can i keep it overclock for? cause i don’t wanna fry the cpu.

it would depend on how far you take it, I would think it would last until you need to upgrade again!
