ATI Radeon X1200 problems with XNA 4.0

hi,

I’m new here, I signed up to get some help, and see if I could help others.

My problem is with my graphics card driver. My card is an ATI Radeon X1200.
I am learning to program games with XNA 4.0 and have encountered a few issues. everything compiles just fine, but when I go to run the game I get the same error each time.

the error message:

no suitable graphics card found.

Could not find a Direct3D device that supports the XNA Framework HiDef profile.

Verify that a suitable graphics device is installed.

Make sure the desktop is not locked, and that no other application is running in full
screen mode.

Avoid running under Remote Desktop or as a Windows Service.

Check the display properties to make sure hardware acceleration is set to Full.

Other information:

My operating system is windows 7 SP1
I have ATI catalyst control center installed on my computer and have installed the legacy driver.

i have attempted to adjust the hardware acceleration to Full, but my graphics card won’t support changing the settings.

in short, I’ve reached the limit of my skills, and really need some help.

so, even if your answer is that my graphics card is too old, any and all help is appreciated. Any further information you may need i would be happy to provide.

thanks in advance,
Sebastien
