Belkin Hi-speed USB 2.0 External Drive Enclosure

Problem Description: Hi guys. Wondered if any of you clever chaps would have some info which could help me out. I’ve recently obtained the Hi-speed USB drive enclosure (F5U209) which I need for vital back up for information for a dying hard drive. The problem I have encountered however is that, on the actual box of this tool there is a small warning stating that the product will only support drives up to 137GB. HOWEVER, When looking at the ‘Supports’ list on the side of the box, it states the product supports drives up to 250GB. A complete contradiction of course and i’m left wondering which is the correct statement. I’ve seen one of these working properly on an 80GB HDD, but upon attempting to use my 250GB HDD last night it did not work. I believe it’s a faulty unit anyway which I am replacing, but what I need to know is the following…

Will this enclosure drive actually support my 250GB HDD? Partition is something I have considered, creating 2 x 125GB partitions, but before I do this, I need to know really whether I am wasting my time or not, because as I previously stated, I need to replace the current unit i have, and I don’t wish to do this if the enclosure drive does not support my 250GB HDD. I have searched the net for the last hour and all I have found out is that every site advertising it has it listed as supporting 250GB. Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
