I suspect that I have some bad memory, as I’m getting a number of Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal errors (the problem has persisted since updating my drivers). I’ve been trying to create a bootable CD or flash drive so that I can run Memtest86+. For the flash drive, I downloaded the .exe file from their website, but Windows claims that it’s incompatible with my OS (Vista Home Premium 64-bit).
As for the CDs, I used Vista’s default burning program to copy the .iso file onto a CD, and then rebooted with the CD in the drive. I tried three different versions of the program on four different CDs (only one on each, though). I was never prompted to press a key to boot from the CD, and each time the computer simply booted as if there was no bootable CD. Hopefully I’m going about this the wrong way. Please let me know what else I can do.
OS: Vista Home Premium 64-bit
Motherboard: ASUS P5N-E SLI
Processor: E8400
Memory: 4GB
If there’s any other information that would help, please let me know.
