I’m thinking of investing in a new mobo, CPU and mem (and case etc but that’s irrelevent!). But I haven’t built a system from scratch (only rebuilt my current system into a new case) before so I need to ask what may seem like a silly question! I still want to keep my HDD and fit it into the new system but would I need to reinstall Windows all over again?
If this isn’t so and I did want to get a new HDD, would I be able to duplicate everything from my current HDD to a new one with more storage?
And another little thing! Which would be more wise to invest in … an Athlon 64 socket 939 or socket 754 mobo and CPU? What are the main differences?
You can do a system repair on windows and that usually patches it up and will work. Get a socket 939 motherboard, other socket is already dead. Socket 939 will be only living socket.
