Building my first computer from scratch

Hello everyone! I’ve decided to do what I’ve always wanted to do and build my own computer from scratch. I know a decent amount about the components that go into computers, but I wanted to just double check to see if I’ve missed anything and to make sure everything is compatable. I’ve put everything together using newegg.com and below are all of the components I’ve picked out. Suggestions are also welcome, and I’m trying to stick to a budget of around $1,000.

Your set up looks pretty good, I think you could change your CPU and GPU though, if your main focus is gaming. I’m in the same boat as you ATM (building first rig) and mine is mainly for gaming; if yours is too, you may wan to swap the i7 for the i5-2500K (from what I read is the best CPU for the price for gaming), and spend the extra money on a more robust GPU like the GTX 560 TI or Radeon 7850.
