Hello,I currently have E6550 C2d 2.33GHZ I want to buy new one because of poor performance.
I use my computer mainly for gaming and so I want to buy the best processor out there,what should I buy?
My motherboard is p5k-e I also plan to upgrade my ram from 2gb to 4gb,I’, not sure if that’s possible with Windows XP SP3 since i thought the cap is 3.5.
why not overclock your E6550 to 3GHZ instead of getting a E8400. If you have some cash then you could go for a Q6600.
Windows XP supports up to 4GB of ram so you should be good there.

If your on a tight budget then i suggest you wait until October because that’s when the new Intel Core i7 chips come out and the Q6600 or E8400 will drop in price by a lot, they will be cheap as chips :chk:
