Canada Says "No!" to DMCA (Way to go, Canada!)

It seems Canada has struck down the freedom-limiting Digital Millenium Copyright Act, or DCMA, and will not be participating. The DMCA is basically good for the profit margins of certain huge American corperations, and bad for everyone else. Smart move, Canada!

I would agree about the profit margins for certain huge American corperations.

Reading the article, it talked about a 22 year old guy downloading and sharing movies etc with friends, I don’t see much wrong with it unless the purpose was to make profit from selling the movies.

If it wasn’t for divx I wouldn’t have bought my first DVD and now I have loads!

Just my opinion

Yeah, I feel the same way. I think being able to view a movie and see if it sucks before buying it is a good thing. If i watch it via divx and its good, i do buy it.
