Changing sata hard drives

I have an Intel D875PBZ mobo and am running a Seagate SATA hd with WinXP. I want to change to a WD SATA Raptor. Can I just swap the Raptor for the Seagate or are there different drivers I need to load?

Yea, you can just switch, but you’ll lose all of your data.

Thanks for the response. Since Im just swapping sata drives, I thought that the necessary drivers were already onboard, but wasn’t sure. And, yes I know that there won’t be any data on the new hd…I’m putting winxp on it and reload what software and hardware I need…just a little house cleaning :slight_smile: Thanks again.

If you’re not setting up a RAID array, you should be able to install XP on it like a regular drive.
