Chip Compatibility Among Motherboards

Hello,

I am curious as to whether there is a motherboard out there that is compatible with both an Intel chip and an AMD one, and if there is, where might I find one?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Welcome to HWF

Unfortunately this is not possible, because Intel and AMD CPUs all use different sockets. So therefore you can only have an Intel or an AMD motherboard, but not both.

I was also wondering, is it possible to use the same motherboard with both an Intel Core2Duo and an Intel Pentium 4 chip?

That depends on the support range of the motherboard. If it supports an Intel Core 2 Duo, it should also support the Pentium 4 (LGA 775 version), but it’s best to refer to the manual of the motherboard.
