Do you have a surge protector? If not, thatās money well spent ($20-30 for a good one). Secondly, if your PSU has had a part come off, Iād use the warranty on this part instead of repairing it. Of course, at this point, you may not be able to do this seeing as you did open the unit up.
Also, would you list the system specs? Include the make and model of the parts: motherboard, PSU, RAM (including how many sticks), etc. so we can see if thereās anything that might be an issue.
sorry, i thought youād know about stuff, bassically by saying āreset the BIOSā i meant, remove the lid of your computer (while youāve got the lid off check the CPU fan is going round (the big fan on the motherboard (big circuit board) and look on the motherboard for some writing like āReset BIOSā or āReset CMOSā move the little jumper and replace it in the reset position, wait for 5 to 10 seconds, then put it back to it original position, and turn on the computer, but put your specs here as Big B has a good point about it could be something else
i would also like to tell you that iām totally unqualified, so i could be very wrong especially with win 2k or above, but with win9x iām probably right, so follow my instructions or advice at your own risk.
