Compatibility/bottleneck advice on new build

Hi,

I am building a PC for my family, which is intended to be used mostly for media and homework purposes, though with perhaps the odd bit of gaming (not hardcore by any means). So I have tried to take advantage of low prices for quality hardware. My main questions are:

1. Is this hardware all compatible?
2. Is there anything here which is too good, and which would suffer from a bottleneck caused by the other components?
3. Is the PSU up to the job (bearing in mind there will be no overclocking)?

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7400
CPU fan: Arctic Cooling AC-FRZ-7P Freezer 7 Pro Socket 775 Processor Cooler (Arctic Cooling AC-FRZ-7P Freezer 7 Pro Socket 775 Processor Cooler - Ebuyer)
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L iG31 (Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L iG31 Socket 775 Onboard VGA 6 channel audio mATX Motherboard - Ebuyer)

I really appreciate your help here - I have enough experience with hardware to build this but not enough to be able to choose without some reassurance.

well, good news, it’ll work but i personally would pick a different mobo because it only has 2 DIMM’S (RAM slots) although it does support for dual mode (RAM) but your RAM doesn’t & Gigabit NIC (basically Gigabit means you can have multiple connections (multiple computers) at the same high speed (assuming all network devices are also Gigabit compatable)

i’m always wary of a PSU that comes with a case as usually they are crappy generic PSU’s

but Coolermaster did have a solid rep for PSU’s, but i’m unsure about there case & PSU combo

Edit: & also about the RAM you’ll need to remove some to upgrade
