Hi,
I am building a PC for my family, which is intended to be used mostly for media and homework purposes, though with perhaps the odd bit of gaming (not hardcore by any means). So I have tried to take advantage of low prices for quality hardware. My main questions are:
- Is this hardware all compatible?
- Is there anything here which is too good, and which would suffer from a bottleneck caused by the other components?
- Is the PSU up to the job (bearing in mind there will be no overclocking)?
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7400
CPU fan: Arctic Cooling AC-FRZ-7P Freezer 7 Pro Socket 775 Processor Cooler (Arctic Cooling AC-FRZ-7P Freezer 7 Pro Socket 775 Processor Cooler - Ebuyer)
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L iG31 (Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L iG31 Socket 775 Onboard VGA 6 channel audio mATX Motherboard - Ebuyer)
RAM: Kingston 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 Memory (Kingston 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 Memory Non-ecc CL5 Unbuffered 1.8V - Ebuyer)
GPU: Inno3D 8500GT 1GB (Inno3D 8500GT 1GB DDR2 128bit VGA DVI TV Out PCI-E Graphics Card - Ebuyer)
HDD: Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB (Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB SATA II 7200RPM 16MB Cache - OEM - Ebuyer)
IDE: Optiarc AD-5200A-0B 20X DVD±RW
And last but by no means least…
Case and PSU: Coolermaster Black Elite 330 Case With eXtreme Power 460W PSU (Coolermaster Black Elite 330 Case With eXtreme Power 460W PSU with Side Window - Ebuyer)
I really appreciate your help here - I have enough experience with hardware to build this but not enough to be able to choose without some reassurance.
Thanks again.
