Compatibility question

Hello my computer is getting old now and i want to upgrade it so here’s what i want to buy:

Mobo: Asus M4A79
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 3,0GHz
Ram: Kingston HyperX 2x2GB DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000)

1- now i dont really know much about compatibility of hardware and i cant get an answer on websites… will the ram bars be compatible with my mobo?

2- I have no clue on everything 64bit … so for new OS i want windows 7 … but do i get the 64 version or what..?

3- Specs of the motherboard says 5xSATA3 plugs, will my SATA1 hdds be ok?

I did use google and it didnt really help me out! Thanks to the ppl that will help me out!

stay away from asus they are instafail. also you the motherboard socket needed for your selected cpu is AM3 + but what model cpu are you using? 805? 810 etc.
this will be a better board: GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Overview - GA-MA770T-UD3P (rev. 1.0)

pretty decent 10 phase powers, lower rds on mosfets.

and for memory you will need ddr3 1666mhz ram dual channel kit.

if your gonna be using 4gb or more of ram you will requre 64bit version of windows 7. always best to use 64bit and yes its compatible with the selected hardware.

and your question about sata2, yes your current harddrive will work fine, sata300 is 3gigabit bus 350mb/s all it means is it’s a higher bus cap than sata 1.

I agree with Bob, asus is like nokia and got their reputation from their tag, I would also suggest MSI for a motherboard, gigabyte merged 2yrs ago with asus so I wouldn’t put gigabyte past anything myself
