Computer won't turn on! please help me

Hi I was wondering if people could give me some advice, and as the title say my computer won’t turn on.

At first when ever you pressed to one switch nothing happened at all, so I tried a new PSU and that made no difference.

I took out the hard drive and graphics card and tested that in my other machine and that works fine, so I know its not them.

I then ran a barebones test on the computer (just mobo, processor, memory and graphics card) and it turned on, so I reconnected the harddrive. once again it would not turn on.

I have gone back to the barebones test and while the computer won’t turn on I notice that when the powers switched on at the back the fans on the processor and graohics card both start spinning.

I’m really at a lost as to what to do. This has all work before but only recently stopped working.

I hope some one can help me.

Lucy

Are you doing a barebones test with the motherboard outside the case? If not, try that in case you’ve got a stud in the wrong place. Second, clear CMOS: unplug the power supply, remove the battery, and move the Clear CMOS jumper to the clear position. Leave it like that for a few minutes, then put the jumper in it’s default postion, the battery back in and reconnect the power supply.

If that doesn’t work, I suspect that whatever power supplies you’re using may not be providing enough juice to start up.
