anybody out there know what kind of router i need to connect an xbox live to the internet using wannadoo broadband

Any router capable of PPPoE will be acceptible.

i was told that there are only certain routers that work with xbox, eg linksys routers :\

Um, no. It’s a network device, not something magical. I bet Linksys/Cisco likes that rumor very much though.
