Copying from Tape Recorder onto Computer in order to transfer recording to Disk

Hi,

If by tape recorder you mean a video tape recorder, you would need a video capture device for your computer to connect a VCR to. They usually have software included with them for basic use. However, if you are referring to audio tapes, you would need some kind of software like Audacity. I found this tutorial which tells how to do this :

Thanks for that Wildcard, will try along those lines. It’s actually an old tape to tape recorder I found in the loft with a tape on it with a recording dating back some 45 years! It actually still works and the recording is reasonable so want to transfer it to a CD and give it to my 47 year old daughter whose voice is on it!
