Copying XP to new hard drive, xp wont load properly.

So, I tried to install a fresh copy onto my new hard drives in a raid array. Well turns out XP hates the nVidia nforce sata & raid drivers. I found instructions on how to do install xp on them, and it was fairly complicated, I tried making a streamlined install disk with the drivers already installed, but that didn’t work either. So instead of doing a direct install on the array, I put a fresh install on my ATA drive and used Norton to copy it over.

Now when trying to boot the drive, I get past the first XP load screen with the load bar but get stuck on blue screen with just the xp logo on it. How do I fix this? And when i do fix this, am i going to have issues because I copied XP over rather then made a fresh install?

What you are trying to do will not work.. In order to setup Xp on that disk , You
have to use a XP setup disk. Is this copy going on the same make and model
PC With the exact same drivers ?

Its a custom computer, I put all the parts together a few years back.

Originally I was trying to do this, because windows would not install onto the SATA raid array due to a WHQL certification issue with the nForce4 SATA/RAID drivers. I was able to streamline a new install disk w/ the correct WHQL certified drivers and get it working.

Although I still am wondering why this didn’t work, because I have done that in the past on other machines.
