AMD x2 64bit 3800+ proc in an Asus A8n 32 SLI deluxe edition.
I was playing around overclocking it the other day, and I had a hard reset (think temps went up to around 80 degrees), realising my thermal compound must be off, I got some more today (now running around 45 degrees, my case has terrible cooling so this is fine).
However when i put the new grease on I found I couldn’t remove the CPU. It sounds impossible that I melted it to the mainboard, but I don’t want to take any chances in breaking either thing (CPU or MB) by forcing it loose, so any suggestions regarding -
Should I attempt to release it (not wanting to upgrade at the moment, but I may soon, all warranties are voided by this point in time)
How should I go about releasing it?
Thanks!
James
