I just sat with my computer when it suddently hanged, couldn’t do anything, and when I restarted the computer the harddrive started to sound really wierd and i got the error message: “SYSTEM DISK FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER” or something, i thought WTF? and did an diagnostic test and after an extended test it tells me this:

I have no idea what has happend (to my not even 2 weeks old harddrive), but I hope you have. :ohah:
EDIT: It’s A Western Digital Raptor 36gb 10.000rpm
Heat is a very big killer of hard drives, and it may be that your Raptor, at 10k rpm has died a heat death as very rarely do drives of WD quality die in 2 weeks. You should be able to RMA the drive back to WD and get a replacement.
hmm I dont belive it died because of heat, becaue i have a 120mm fan in front of it (with 3 others). But I have contaced WD now, and see what they say.
Hmm, I’ve never had a problem with Western Digital drives in my entire life, and I’ve been using them on & off for at least 15 years. But I like Seagate better since the Barracuda line came out, so I’d recommend that if you don’t want to go WD anymore.
Ok guess I’ve had a really bad luck the, as usal!!
But, a friend of me told me that I could had damaged the harddrive with my screwdriver with magnet? could that be possible?
