I can’t believe it. I mean, I really can’t. It’s actually not the first time he “dies”. I certainly hope it’s some kind of joke or something…

Well, I’m not surprised he didn’t make it to an old age, but this was kinda shocking. Unfortately, this isn’t close to April Fools, so I’m thinking it’s true. I’m no expert, but the way things happened, it sounds like the accident took him out pretty quick.

Ah man I feel real bad now, poor guy…and his wife. He was very cool and was pretty much an iconic figure. At least it was a quick death I guess.

but he was pretty funny

He died doing what he loved, and said himself that that’s the way he’d like to go.
i feel sorry for his wife & kids, although i can’t say i’m surprised (he was 1 crazy :swear:er)
but i can’t believe he got taken out by a stingray, i’d have thought he’d at least have being took out by a croc or snake, although he was crazy, he did a lot for conservation, wildlife & education and stuff, he was good though (in a mental sort of way)

I was gutted when I read the news when I woke up. He really entertained me for years. Shame for his family too.
Apparently hes had a special place in his heart for stingrays since he was a kid.
If thats true, then thats very unusual accident :s
I just read, he was caught on video pulling a poison stingray barb from his chest moment before losing consciousness.
They say it was highly unusual to die that way from a stingray, generally they lay on the ocean floor and when something steps on them or whatever they’d flee or stab at the feet/ankles, but the heart is just weird, and really unfortunate.
Yeah there’s very few people killed by stingrays - the sting is small and the venom isn’t deadly - it just hurts. It got him in the wrong place.
