dead DVD burner

i´ve finally admited to myself that my DVD burner is dead, people on here will know i´ve been having burner problems for a while, (not a good thing) but does anyone recommend a DVD burner (possibly DL & Lightscribe, as my dead burner only used to support -RW but after a flash, -RW & +RW, but dead is dead, so what does anyone recommend ?

I have one of the following. I have found it to be very good and the price is okay. A good value for money burner, I would say.
eBay.co.uk: SONY BLACK 16X Rewriter Dual Layer DVD±RW Writer 8.5GB (item 140006494627 end time 17-Jul-06 21:15:00 BST)

Any good burner from Pioneer, Sony, Lite-On IT or Plextor will do fine.
Recommendations? The Pioneer DVR-111D or the Sony DRU-820A are excellent burners. Lightscribe isn’t in their feature list, but you will have to choose.

thanks, but, i´ve just being looking, after adding the delivery, i may as well buy a new drive and get a warrenty, plus it doesn´t say the model, which makes me suspicious,
and bought off ebay before and found the stuff is either stolen or knackered

I’ve been very happy with the Pioneer DVR-109 and DVR-111 drives I’ve purchased over the last year.

cheers B

ordered an Asus DRW-1608P2s cos its DL, +/- RW & £22.05, but mainly cos Asus make decent mobos and it looks as if there trying to break into the RW market, so it will probably be a :swear: good drive,

still apriceate input though !

They’ve been putting out optical drives for a few years, so, yeah, if they’re anything like their motherboards, they should be good products.

cheers B  well i picked that RW for the wrong reasons, but sounds like i made a good purchase, wasn´t aware Asus also made optical drives, but never mind, thanks B

i reckon this is a sik dvd rewriter with dvd ram 12x, dual layer and dvd rw± etc.
