whenever i right click in windows xp or click on a drop down menu the menu doesnt pop up smoothly, it kind of judders. At exactly the same time there is a weird sound that comes from the computer, althougth i havent been able to determine exactly what component is making it.
I have also been having problems with the system totaly freezing in all games.
This must be linked right? has anyone experienced this before?
How do i stop it?
Is it a grinding of some sort? If it is, that might be the hard drive…
no its more of a chercher cher sound and its either coming from the graphics card or something near it
Might wanna check the CPU fan or PSU fan as well as the video card, since they all tend to be in that same area.
it cant be the fans since the noise only happens when something slides in like a drop down menu. Also the PSU is Brand new and there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with the CPU fan althougth i still need to reapply the thermal paste.
Well, just now I’ve hit the SHIFT key 5 times and brought up the prompt for sticky keys and I get some sort of sound. Try that and see if that gives you the same noise your getting with the other stuff.
no that sounds way differnet, but my sound seems to have stopped now.
