I have a 40Gig drive and using Fdisk it reports 2 gig in the primary & 36 gig in the extended. If I try to create a logical drive in the extended partition the screen shows “No logical drives defined” but, at the bottom of the screen it says that “all available space is used by the logical drive”
I am using this drive as a slave, when I am in Win98, the only part of the disk I can see is the 2 gig partition.
Where is the remaining 38 gig gone, and can I get it back?
Thanks for your response. I am using Win98 SE. I have tried this drive as a slave on 2 pc’s with the same result, I have tried to delete all the partitions but fdisk tells me “can’t delete extended drive with logical drive” but there are no logical drives.
try using some third party patitioning software e.g. partition magic is what a lot of people use, my partitioning software choice is Acronis Partition Expert 2003, which has now been superseeded by Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 but there are loads of different partitioning software available, just google it
