Do PCI-E 2.0 graphics cards need a Crossfire bridge?

I am thinking of buying a second graphics card for some Crossfire fun.

Can anyone tell me if i still need the Crossfire bridge connector for PCI-E 2.0 Graphics cards and motherboard?
