I am having real problems with this free modem router. I have connected this via usb because i have another pc setup via ethernet & i cannot afford a switch or router.
the problem is that i was trying portforward some of the ports for some of my p2p clients such as utorrent, dc++, bitteronado, mirc.
after i had done this i “save & reboot” my modem. now i can no more vist websites or msn or p2p. Why would this be happening?.
what is the make and model of the device your having problems with

is it a router or a modem
this is a router, routers always have an integrated modem and sometimes they also have an integrated gateway, which this one does have, although it is possible to use your router via both ethernet and USB at the same time, it is much easier if you keep all DSL connected equipment connected via ethernet, you mentioned a switch, now a switch does nothing more than multiply the number of DSL connections (in your case)
